AI recruitment for SMEs: what it is and how iRecrut uses it

AI recruitment means using software to read job posts and candidate profiles, compare many of them quickly and explain why someone fits. iRecrut uses AI to understand your job post and to analyse the strongest matching profiles in depth, giving a final score from 0 to 100 with reasons and red flags. The AI does not decide who to hire, does not interview or verify anyone, and can make mistakes, so you still check and interview.

What does AI recruitment mean for a small business?

AI recruitment means using software that can read and compare text to help with hiring. In a small business it usually comes down to three jobs. The software reads a job post and pulls out the skills, experience and location the job needs. It compares that with a very large number of candidate profiles far faster than a person can. It then explains why a profile looks like a good or a poor fit.

Think of it as a fast first pass. A person at a desk might read a handful of CVs in an hour. Software can go through a much larger pool and leave you a short list to read. The reading, the questions and the decision stay with you.

What can AI do in hiring?

AI cannot meet the person. It cannot tell whether someone is honest, punctual or right for your team, and it cannot check that a CV is true. Those parts of hiring stay human.

  • Read a job post written in ordinary words and pull out the skills, experience and location it asks for.
  • Compare one job with many profiles quickly and put the closest ones first.
  • Explain a match in plain sentences, and point out things you may want to check.
  • Draft text for you, such as the first version of a job description.
  • Understand a short message about a job, even when it is written in Gujarati, Hindi or English.

How does iRecrut use AI to match candidates?

iRecrut combines fixed rules with AI. The platform first reads your job description and pulls out the skills, experience and location it needs. Fixed rules then sort the candidate database and leave a ranked list of plausible people. An AI model looks closely at the strongest ones in each batch and gives a final score with reasons and red flags. If the AI is unavailable, the rule-based score and a simpler explanation are shown instead.

The Features page has the full matching steps, including the default level shown in the dashboard, the next batches and the Nearby tab for on-site jobs.

Where else does iRecrut use AI?

  • Job description helper: on the web form, the AI Generate Description button drafts the description from the fields you filled in and your company profile. You edit it before you post.
  • WhatsApp job assistant: AI turns a short job message, or a PDF, Word file or photo of a job description, into a draft job card in English that you confirm. The Features page explains posting step by step.
  • Reading CVs: when a CV is added to the iRecrut database, AI reads it to fill in profile fields such as skills and experience.
  • Chat replies: the free-text answers of the WhatsApp assistant are written by AI. Once you are registered, chat replies use the language of your first message until you change it. Menus, buttons and job cards stay in English.
  • Job share card: on the Boost Job page the AI draws the background of a share card that you post yourself. The Features page lists what else the card shows, and these details are worth checking before you share it.

How should I read a score, the reasons and the red flags?

A score from 0 to 100 sorts people for you, and it works well as a way to decide whom to read about first. The reasons say what the AI found in the profile that fits your job, such as a matching skill or a similar earlier role. The red flags point out things worth a question, such as a long distance, a gap in experience or a skill that is missing from the profile.

A red flag is a prompt for a question at the interview, and a high score with a red flag deserves a closer look. A lower score with strong reasons can still be a person worth meeting. If the reasons describe a different job from the one you meant, the job post is the first place to look.

What the AI does not do

Knowing the limits is part of using AI well. These are the limits of iRecrut's AI. The Features page has the full list of what iRecrut as a whole does not do.

  • It supports your decision and never replaces it. The interview, the checks and the choice stay with you.
  • It can make mistakes. It can misread a vague job post, miss a skill that is written in an unusual way, or give a high score to a profile that only looks good on paper.
  • A score is a guide. A candidate with a lower score may still suit you, and a high score does not promise a good hire.
  • Results depend on how clearly the job is written and on who is in the database. A role with few profiles gives a short list.
  • It reads text, so a profile with little detail can score lower than the person deserves.
  • It does not know your workplace, your customers or your team.
  • It does not guarantee that you will find or keep anyone, and it cannot confirm that a CV is true.

How to get good results from AI matching

  • Writing the role, area, skills, years of experience and working hours in plain words helps. A vague post gives vague matches.
  • Asking only for the skills the job really needs works better. A long list of must-have skills filters out people who could do the work.
  • Setting the job location, and pinning it on the map in the web form, improves how well nearby candidates are found.
  • The reasons and red flags are worth reading as well as the score.
  • Opening the profile or CV lets you check the details yourself.
  • Your own interview and a short practical test belong before the decision.
  • If the matches look wrong, improving the job post and then using Re-run Matching on the job page can help. The Features page explains when a re-run can be refused.
  • The pipeline notes record what you learn, so that you can compare candidates later.

What happens to my business information when AI reads my job posts?

Here is what we can say. Job posts and candidate profile text are sent to external AI services (text and images) to produce matches, descriptions, replies and share cards. Private details, such as bank details or ID numbers, are better left out of job posts.

The website and the dashboard are served over HTTPS, shown by the padlock in your browser. Each employer account sees only its own jobs and pipeline in the dashboard. Payments go through a payment processor. The privacy policy covers data handling in general.

If your business has strict rules about sharing information, ask us on WhatsApp at +91 95127 33360 before you post sensitive details.

How can an SME adopt AI hiring step by step?

You do not need to change how you hire all at once. Starting with one role shows you what works in your business.

  • Step 1: a role you hire for often, such as an accountant or a sales executive, makes a good first role to try.
  • Step 2: a job post in plain words works well, and the templates in our guides can help.
  • Step 3: post it on iRecrut and keep your usual method going too, such as word of mouth, a notice at the shop or your own WhatsApp groups.
  • Step 4: the matches come with reasons and red flags. Shortlisting the people you would interview anyway, and noting the ones you doubt, gives you a fair comparison.
  • Step 5: compare after the round. Look at how much time you spent, how many people were worth interviewing and where the AI reasons matched what you saw in person.
  • Step 6: keep your human checks, which are the interview, a short practical test, a reference check and your own decision.
  • Step 7: more roles can follow once the first round has shown you what works.

How do I start with iRecrut?

You can message "Start hiring now" to the iRecrut WhatsApp assistant at +91 95127 33360, or create a login on the website pricing page. Website sign-ups use the web dashboard and do not get WhatsApp posting or alerts automatically. The Features page explains where each feature works.

FAQ

Common questions

What is AI recruitment?

AI recruitment is the use of software to read job posts and candidate profiles, compare them and explain matches. It speeds up the first sorting. A person still interviews, checks and decides.

Will AI replace my judgement?

No. The AI in iRecrut gives you a score, reasons and red flags, which help you choose whom to read about and contact first. It does not know your workplace and never meets the person. The interview, the practical test, the reference check and the final decision stay with you.

Can the AI make mistakes when it matches candidates?

Yes. It can misread a vague job post, miss a skill that is written in an unusual way, or rate a thin profile too low. The score is a guide, so it is worth reading the reasons and checking the profile yourself before you contact anyone.

What happens to my business information?

Job post text and candidate profile text are sent to external AI services to produce matches, descriptions, replies and share cards, so keep private details out of your posts. For example, write "Sales executive for our showroom in Surat, 2 years experience" and leave out bank or ID numbers. If you are unsure what is safe to post, ask us on WhatsApp at +91 95127 33360.

Does the AI check that a candidate is genuine?

No. iRecrut does not interview candidates or verify their CVs, identity or past jobs. The AI reads the text in a profile. Your own checks, such as an interview, a practical test and a reference check, remain important.

Does the iRecrut assistant understand Gujarati and Hindi?

Yes for job messages. You can write your job in Gujarati, Hindi or English. Once you are registered, chat replies use the language of your first message until you change it. Menus, buttons and job cards stay in English, so the draft card is worth reading before you post.

Will AI help me hire faster?

iRecrut does not guarantee a hire, a hiring speed or the quality of candidates. Matching usually finishes within minutes, which saves search time, but the time to a hire depends on your job post, your area, the people in the database and your own process.
